Already in mid-November 2016, Twitter-Leaker @evleaks announced that Samsung seems to take a jump in the internal model numbers. While the S7 versions used the model numbers SM-G930 and SM-G935, the Galaxy-S8 series is given the model names SM-G950 and SM-G955. By the way, Evan Blass then mentions the model designation SM-N950. Traditionally, the name N9xx always stood for a product from Samsung's note series.
